Has your company carried out an APV this year?

APV is an abbreviation for Workplace Assessment, which is a tool to help you gain a deeper insight into the well-being of your workplace. Overall, the assessment should help to ensure employee well-being, motivation and productivity, which ultimately helps to reduce costs such as sickness absence. In addition, it is mandatory to conduct an APV for all companies that have at least one employee. If you have not carried out an APV recently, we have made an overview of the requirements for the preparation of it.

When to complete an APV?

As a rule of thumb, the APV audit must be carried out at least every three years, but exactly when it is carried out within the three years is up to the employer. However, if the company makes changes that have an impact on the working environment, it is a requirement that APV'en is revised.

What are the requirements for an APV?

As mentioned, it is a requirement that an APV is carried out every three years and that it is regularly revised if changes are made that have an impact on the working environment. In addition, there are the following requirements for APV:

  • The employer is responsible for ensuring that an APV. It must be clear who is responsible for ensuring that the APV action plan drawn up is carried out.
  • The assessment must be in writing and accessible to management, employees and the Danish Working Environment Authority.
  • Management and employees (the health and safety organization) must work together throughout the process.

There is overall methodological freedom for the execution of the APVbut it must include the following five specific phases:

  • Identification and mapping

The first part of the assessment aims to highlight the physical and psychological working environment in the company. You can use, for example, an APV questionnaire or interviews.

  • Description and assessment of the company's health and safety problems

The second point is to assess how any problems from the first fasting can be resolved, with a focus on preventing the problem from occurring in the future.

  • Involvement of the company's sick leave

It is important that APV identifies whether there are work-related factors that contribute to increased sickness absence.

  • Preparation of an action plan

An APV action plan is then drawn up to address the problems identified.

  • Follow-up to the Action Plan

Finally, a follow-up of the action plan should be carried out. This should indicate whether the solution has been effective or whether the action plan needs to be revised.
