Over time, the development and modernization of our society has brought with it a number of challenges that affect our health and well-being. Increasing inactivity in daily life and unhealthy eating habits have led to a higher prevalence of lifestyle diseases and mental disorders - including stress.

We also spend the majority of our waking hours at work, which is why health promotion should be strategically considered as part of every company's values. That's why we have put together 5 suggestions on how you can easily and clearly start strengthening health and well-being in the workplace:

  1. Create a good physical working environment

Are your employees comfortable at their workstation? Are the lighting and sound levels well considered? A good physical environment is essential for a good working environment. In addition, it is also a good idea to include physical activity in the daily workflow. Just a few minutes of break exercise a week can relieve pain in the lower back and neck, for example.

  1. Management must lead the way!

If management has ambitions to strengthen health and well-being in the workplace, they should take the lead in the health race. For example, it is a good idea to invite professionals to do health checks on employees, as this can help kick-start the desire to live a healthier life.

  1. Have a good psychological working environment

Trust and credibility in the workplace are essential for a good workplace. In this way, you create space for development at both professional and personal level. When employees feel that they have a say in their work and that they are seen and heard, psychological well-being in the workplace is strengthened.

  1. Exercise as part of culture

It's a good idea to include movement as part of the workplace culture. This can be as simple as moving the printer to another floor so that employees are forced to move.

  1. Make the workplace attractive!

Create a work structure that can accommodate a good work-life balance with freedom with responsibility. When employees have the freedom to carry out their work under their own responsibility, it creates a high level of well-being in their private and professional life.
